Numbers 22:31 KJV
Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
This is the story of Balaam who was summoned by Balak the king to speak curse to nation of Israel. The Israelites were too numerous and they had powerful and victorious history that their presence brought distressed to Balak. They kept coming to Balaam but Balaam made a strong statement that he will only speak what God has put on his mouth. One night the Lord told Balaam that if the people of the king went to him again, that he has to go with them and only speak what He tells him to speak. Well, the next morning, Balaam woke up and maybe was so excited that even before the people of the king went to him, he went with them.
There was no waiting moment and the Lord was angry that His angels went on to stand on the way so he can’t keep going yet. The ass that he was riding saw His angels standing and fall three times. Balaam smite the ass three times as well because he did not see the angels of the Lord standing on the way yet.
Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face. (Numbers 22:31)
It was Divine intervention not destruction.
The same thing holds true with our life as His children. Maybe we see delays and we become so disappointed. Maybe we see the circumstances around us as against us. Maybe we encounter people as a problem. We are frustrated. We are angry on the inside. We fight against the delays by making our own way. We fight the people who loves us because we are thinking that they are the problem. We become restless and cannot rest trusting.
But the truth is, God is working behind the scene for us. It looks a hindrance but it is His hand so we can’t keep going on the wrong path.
Friends, God’s delays are not His denials. His desires is to bring us to His plans for us. His plans for us is good, it is pleasing, and it is perfect.
The key here is, we have to know Him so we can trust Him so that when we don’t have what we ask of Him yet, we are still assured that He knows the perfect time for us to receive it. It will. In His time table.
Rest in His love and be expectant like King David that He is a good Father who can bring us to our destiny beyond what we could ever think or imagine.
Today I pray for all of you. May your spiritual eyes be opened so you will see what’s going on in the spiritual realm and that you can be rest assured that God is fighting for you behind the scene to give you victory.
He loves you all.
