1 Peter 1:7 Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it [proved] pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out [proved] genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.
Well, to be honest, I don’t have a love for gold except for it’s value. I’m always amazed over how expensive it can become and the process it went through. Some of it are just too small but are too high of value, oh yes I could not afford it but I am just enamored by it’s value. In fact, snatchers can now detect it, oh goodness. When these gold jewelries are on display and without someone guarding it, well don’t be surprised, it’s going to be in someone else hand. Oh by the way, it has some other story in Singapore and maybe on other countries as well. You can display all your gold from head to toe and no one will ever get it. I promise you.
So gold are eye catching and you will always know how well to do someone else by his/her gold..Yeah common sense, only the well to do can afford it hahaha. Therefore, there is something about gold. But the truth it, gold did not come out as expensive as it is. It went through the process of hot and fire. The more expensive the gold, the more fire it went through and I find it so interesting that a genuine faith is compared to a pure gold. Why pure gold? Because there are countless fake golds that can be found here and there and everywhere, it shines brightly as far as you can see. It looks real for the very first time but once you get it, put it in a jewelry box, and you can see how it suddenly fades. Those are fake gold in a jewelry that went through shortcut shining but the process and foundation is just too shallow, it fades in just a matter of time.
And genuine faith is exactly like that. There are so many people who claimed to have faith in Jesus Christ, who knows Jesus Christ, who profess to have a knowledge of God but gives up at the last hour. I can tell you that I once was there and from time to time is still is. Thank you Lord for a revelation of His grace. I’d like to say that genuine faith sparkles in the eyes as it comes from a joy within, a result of an encounter of the reality of God.
Yes, we will all be facing the challenges of life. Rentals to pay, businesses to grow, children to take care of, relationships to be restored, insecurities to be made whole, healing to believe for, and so much more.
For many, they live hopeless, and in a pity party because life seems so unfair. Why God why? But the truth is, the more we go through these challenges, the more we see ourselves as someone who has a genuine faith in Jesus Christ or as someone who is so circumstancial, our belief in Him is just shallow that we can only believe for the possible to be possible and the impossible remains impossible.
Friends, we serve a God who is a master of turning the impossibe possible. We serve a God of the uncommon. He parted he red sea for Moses, He made the river at the Jordan stand like a wall for Joshua, He turned the water into wine in the Wedding at Cana, He heals various diseases science is giving up, He raised the dead back to life and so much more miracles.
Let us stand therefore, walk through the challenges, face it by faith, fully persuaded that our God is able to sustain us, His grace is sufficient for us and His power is made perfect in our weaknesses.
I pray that we all be as pure as a gold.
God bless you all.
