Handling Accusations

We are in a quick information generation when everything we need to know are just right in our finger tips. While what we know may not be the absolute accurate, the knowledge can sometimes will in most cases grip our hearts in tremendous fear, others in all out disappointment. The feeds on social media to most has been accepted as the truth and the counsel of the knowledge of God which is His Word is brushed off as hearsay and baseless. The attacks among brethren are now subtly hidden in blogs, FB posts, tweets, retweets and IG captions and what was once a taboo in moral conducts and ethics has been flat out accepted as the new normal. Accusing others now can be written online and just in seconds, bad news become trending and viral, the talk of the town and the headlines on the news. Personal assassination is the easiest to do now and to answer an accusation without evidences can be done in one stop internet connections. People now lose their peace in just a simple browse and instead of walking in faith, they are boiling in anger and the thought of reacting in a much sharper remarks.

Todays thoughts made me so in awe of Jesus. From my daily Bible reading, it captures an example image of handling accusations Jesus way.

Matthew 27:12-14 says, when He was accused by the chief priests and the elders, He gave no answer. Then Pilate asked him, “Don’t you hear the testimony they are charging against you?” But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge – to the great amazement of the governor (NIV).

The natural reaction could have been saving one’s reputation but to a MAN who knew who He really was, it’s not worth a defense. He knew that He came to seek and save the lost.

So here’s my take heart lesson from Jesus in handling accusations:

1) When we are walking in integrity, there’s no smoke that’s to be feared.
2) When we know our purpose and calling, opinions from anyone doesn’t matter at all.
3) When we are tempted to lash out, remember Jesus, don’t reply and let’s continue to fulfill our life purpose.
4) When we want peace, lets feed on the Written Word and the Living Word more than taking a screenshot from the newsfeeds.

I failed in the past but I’m progressing now. Sometimes, opinions still strike me so sharply but in most cases, it’s just the result of my failure to gaze upon Jesus.

Therefore, let’s handle accusations Jesus way 💙

Jesus Loves You🌻
