Reading the Bible gives us the knowledge about God and a beautiful encounter with Him. His Words are so refreshing and more so, its alive and active that it definitely penetrates the spirit, soul, and body. In the knowledge of His Word, it is far easier to text it to someone as quotation, post it on social media as a form of religiosity, and say it to someone to avoid personal closeness and intimacy. While it’s super helpful, it could create gap between those who see themselves as worst sinners and with those who confidently believe their religious edge.
I’d like to believe that the Word is to be lived and that is a lifetime challenge. If in essence we become too knowledgeable about the Scriptures but our life is a view of contradiction, I guess, we therefore have to have a personal relfection and an honesty towards self in humility towards God that while we sincerely desire for a transformation, only the Holy Spirit can enable us to sustain the kind of change that we want to maintain.
So how are we going to live the Bible which has so many counsels that worth to follow and emulate? I understand how overwhelming it would be and if we are not careful we will be bowled over by its magnificence and as result, we can’t live in even one Scripture.
Let me suggest a simple way to live the Word:
1) Start with one Scripture that speaks to your heart.
Matthew 6:33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. AMP
2) Go to God first before calling friends, making decisions, or posting anything, etc.
3) Do it consistently for 21 days. They said that it takes 21 days to change an old habit and start a new one.
4) Eventually, you will be Living In The Word for the rest of your life and when it becomes a part of you, start the next verse.
In the Kingdom of God, it’s not magnet, nor overnight perfection. It’s progress from glory to glory until we will become like Jesus Christ.
Let’s take the challenge to not just say the Word but to Live In The Word.
Let’s share our progress.
Jesus Loves You🌻
