I noticed that whether we are still in Christ or not in Christ, we have attitude defaults. There are those who did not acknowledge Jesus but when they faced life pressures, they are poised in handling it. There are also those confessing Christians who, when facing battles, are natural panicky. Personally, I was envious of those wonderful people who shines in pressing times because of their beautiful responses. And I had been asking why they handled life circumstances like a pro outside but I can’t when I am in Christ.
So here’s the thing:
1) If we had been reacting in every life pressure for thirty years then we will naturally react in pressing times all the time.
2) If we right away dwell on negative things when we are hurt, then we carry a negative reaction with us all around, all the time.
So what are we going to do? Let’s start by renewing our mind through the Word of God (Romans 12:2). That means, let’s start planting His promises in our heart so that our wrong default reactions will slowly be removed. Example, if we remember our bad past quickly more than the new things that God has done now, let’s start memorizing Isaiah 43:18-19. It says, “do not earnestly remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold I am doing a new thing. NOW it springs forth! Did you not perceive it and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Therefore, when satan reminds you of your past in your mind, speak Isaiah 43:18-19 again and again and again until God’s Word will wash you from your bad past. The more you say it repeatedly, the more it will take root in your heart. And, when the Word takes root, it will bear fruit in your life. As a result, you are plucking your bad memories because of the Word of God and your past will not haunt you anymore.
But, let’s not just confess these verses without Jesus in our hearts. Let’s acknowledge Him first. Let’s make Him our Savior, submit to Him and believe Him in His Words. Then let’s start confessing His Words in faith.
Let’s start a new default attitude when it comes to our past.
Have a great day everyone💕
